Foothills Christian School supports parents in providing value-based education to their children
Foothills Community Christian School is a top-performing Pre-Kindergarten through 12th school in Great Falls, Montana, whose mission is to assist parents in providing a Christ-centered education that values exceptional academics, strong moral character, and service to others.
The school is in a single facility that helps create a nurturing environment for parents, students, and faculty according to Kerri Koteskey, Advancement Coordinator at Foothills.
“ACE Scholarship’s play a crucial role in allowing students from families with financial need the opportunity to attend Foothills,” explained Kerri. “This year we had 13 ACE Scholars, and next year we will have 14, which is an incredible blessing to our school and the families.”
“Our goal is to support and encourage parents in their primary role in providing a Christ-centered education to their children,” Kerri added. “Working with parents, we seek to instill in students with the our values of Leadership, Exceptional Academics, the Authority of God’s Word, and Relationships all within a Nurturing environment. .”
Older students take part in service activities in the community, and all students are encouraged to mentor and support one another.
“This year’s sixth-grade class undertook a service project that involved reading to our Pre-K students, and at the end of the year our Pre-K students surprised the older students by reading stories back to them,” she explained.
Graduating seniors earn some of the top ACT college entrance scores in the region, and the majority of 7-12 grade students take part in athletic programs. This year’s girls’ volleyball team completed a perfect 26-0 record, earning the school’s first Montana Christian Athletic Association’s State Volleyball Championship and the girls basketball team brought home their 2nd MCAA State Title in 3 years.
According to Jake Penwell, state director for ACE Montana, statistics show that providing students with the opportunity to attend outstanding schools like Foothills Christian results in students attaining higher proficiency rates in math, better attendance rates, and higher ACT scores compared to other area students.
“Providing parents with the opportunity to choose the best school for their children is good for the families, schools, and our communities,” he explained.
